The Accreditation process is open to any full member of the Guild up to level three but to work for the title Master Molecatcher will require proof of third party liability insurance. The process up to and including level three is available on line but also via postal correspondence upon request Each level must be completed in the correct order and only upon the success of a level will the member be permitted to progress to the next.
LEVEL ONE BASIC
These are a series of basic simple questions that require a minimum pass mark of ten correct answers. They are a broad cross section of questions which most members may have the ability to freely answer or the information maybe found from available sources. There is no time limit for the completion of this stage Aimed not as a test of knowledge but to encourage further learning on this complex world of the mole and its control, any member having obtained accreditation may then continue to level 2 The successful member will receive a certificate and window decal
LEVEL TWO INTERMEDIATE
This stage is more in-depth and may require some further reading to locate the information to complete the questions which must all be answered correctly - yes 100% . The source of these answers are readily available without cost to members. Upon completion the successful member may display accreditation to level 2 and a certificate and a level 2 window decal will again be awarded to acknowledge this achievement.
LEVEL
THREE ADVANCED
A slightly further advanced and in depth level of questions that allow the knowledge gained in levels 1& 2 to enhance the members ability to understand this complex world of the mole and its control with traditional methods Level three as with level two requires a 100% success rate to achieve the pass Again a certificate and window decal will again be awarded The whole process is a progression of questions to install or identify a minimum level of knowledge in mole control by the use of mole traps. With the levels completed the member may then apply for the Master Molecatcher level. THE MASTER MOLECATCHER
The Master Molecatcher is a practical test and may be obtained during the everyday working practice of any member operating a commercial service. The Guild members have agreed to operate under the code of practice to grant a standard of service that is both humane and respectful to the mole. In providing such a level of service it also requires that each member is honest and dedicated to their commitment to mole catching. This will have been identified in the previous levels and rewarded accordingly with acknowledgements, however to culminate the process the title of Master Molecatcher will be awarded to a member who successfully completes the task of fifty individual confirmed catch’s of a mole over night. The member will be required to provide evidence in the form of a sign declaration from a client that a mole trap or traps placed were inspected the next day and a mole was removed. To explain – A member wishing to apply for the title will be required to request a downloaded form. Each time they set traps they may ask their client to complete one section of the form and upon inspection the following day if a mole or moles have been removed request that the form is signed. Multiple catches at a location will only account for one of the fifty required, however multiple visits to a location over the period of time taken to complete fifty will be accepted. Upon the completion of fifty separate occasions the forms are returned to the National Pest Technicians Associations who will randomly contact those people on a submitted list to confirm that the member operated the service within the guidelines of the agreed terms. If it is found that these terms had been breached then the member will forfeit any submitted lists and would be required to commence the process again. Members who successfully provide to their clients fifty confirmed occasions of an overnight removal of a mole or moles will be awarded and recognized as a MASTER MOLECATCHER.
The Master Molecatcher scheme is fully sponsored by the National Pest Technicians Association
MASTER MOLECATCHER AWARD The National Pest Technicians association has agreed to support this award and those members seeking to hold the title Master Molecatcher may obtain recognition of this having completed all three accreditation levels
